this afternoon i stopped by
the ashley neufeld softball complex
to sing a song for ashley
as i will be unable to attend
the grand opening on saturday
the 9th of september
of this impressive group of fields
that ashley's parents bev and phil
and many others have built
with inspired dedication and effort
to commemorate the life of my niece
whose life and softball career
remain a shining beacon
to all of us as we remember her
