the bc parliament buildings
with their neo baroque grandeur
were designed by 25 year old
frances rattenbury in 1893
a recent english immigrant
who won the commission
in an architectural competition
rattenbury went on to design
victoria's classic empress hotel
and the crystal gardens pool
