these pre sunrise fire flares
are so sudden and so brief
that unless you are waiting
for them at a scenic location
you catch them where you are
in this case i was arriving
at the schoolbus yard
and there it was in all its glory
as i got out of my car
i first saw it reflected
on the side of a truck
a moment later it was gone
