the mill farm regional park
is actually a preserve
and not officially a park yet
and when i first arrived
here on this island
nearly forty years ago
there was a movement
to turn this mill farm area
into a strata development
but for various reasons
the project fizzled
and in 1966 the 65 hectares
was acquired as part of the
pacific marine heritage legacy
