in nashville i think it was 1969
at the nashville ymca
after an ill fated southern trip
with my friend jake in a vw bug
and eventually this song
was on my first recording
a long play record back then
and this song was recorded
by george hamilton the IV
who was a true gentleman
who i met at the right time
to encourage me to continue
writing those songs
this song still moves me
especially now
here
in ukranian limbo
