a selfish highlight
for me was when
connie invited me
to play ‘moody
manitoba morning’
while valdy cut the
birthday cake and
when i begged off
due to my voice
still suffering after
my surgery she said
‘okay i’ll do it then’
and she sang it far
better than i could
possibly have sung it
it was humbling
and so beautiful
