we zoomed by here
dodging the potholes
but caught a glimpse
of this little stand
with fruit and vegetables
john and i both saw it
and said at the same time
'i want an apple'
so we did the u turn
and a dog barked
and this lovely person
came out to the road
as we each picked
one perfect apple
i tried to give her money
but she refused insistently
one two three times
best apples ever
